Brilliant build quality. Shame the cross guard doesn’t gradually light up but turns on instantly.

This saber was fine, I've purchased similar priced sabers from other vendors. It felt a little cheap by comparison in terms of hilt quality, but it's a crossguard saber for £200 that has decent dimensions and isn't too chunky where the blades meet, so you've got to give it some slack. It's also a huge hilt, if you're looking for something with some heft it certainly had that.

I got an RGB saber and had some warning it might be dim as the RGB cross guard sabers use one light source to light 3 blades. I'm actually quite happy with the brightness though, it is only very slightly dimmer than other single blade RGB sabers I've seen.

The biggest let down is the software, this is my first ES saber. So don't know if this is universal for all their sabers but the colour change mode which fades between different colours just means you'll always have a lightsaber that's never quite the colour you want it to be. I think I prefer it when these kind of sabers have set colours that resemble the movie blades. That's just a personal preference though.

The motion controls are horrible, the 'wrist twist' that allows you to quick activate and deactivate the saber is a too responsive meaning the blade often switches off on its own, the thrust activation/deactivation similarly just means swiniging it around switches it off frequently.

The cycling between saber fonts by holding down the button while the blade is off is marginally better but seems quite vague in comparison to other sabers I've seen. By far the most irritating feature on this saber, is that to change sound/blade font you hold the activation button for 4 seconds and to turn the saber off you hold it for 10 seconds. This forces the saber to change your font every time you shut it off so next time you turn it on you have to find your right font and colour all over again. Oh, and the mute button doesn't mute the instruction voice like I've experienced with other sabers so it will annoying bark things st you even when muted.
